  • In Memory of Declan Comerford

    Published 06/09/20

Sadly, Declan Comerford, one of our students, passed away last week.  Our heartfelt thoughts go out to Declan’s family, who are naturally devastated.

Declan was a vibrant, popular student, and will be sadly missed by staff and students here at Chatsworth.  Everyone at school has a story to tell about him, as he was such a character. He was the first student to welcome me to Chatsworth, saying ‘Are you the new Headteacher? Hi new Headteacher. It’s nice to meet you. My name’s Declan’.  This confidence and friendliness is typical of Declan.  Many stories I’ve heard relate to his cheeky sense of humour and mischievous way.  He would always apologise if he thought he’d upset someone, and would often say ‘I’m going to be good today’.

Those of you who knew Declan will understand how this loss will affect us all at school. .  We are proud to have had him as a student here at Chatsworth; he’s definitely left his mark with staff and students, and will never be forgotten.  I hope he is now resting in peace.

We are compiling a memories book which we will pass on to his family in due course.  Should any of you wish to contribute to this, please send information to school via email, or post, to the school address.

    Helen
